National Weather Service On Severe Weather

(St. Louis) It was a rough night for southeast Missouri when it comes to the weather. Jarod Maples is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in St. Louis. He says the storms on Sunday were very rare for this type of year.

Maples says they’ll now have teams that will travel to southeast Missouri to determine just how severe these storms were on the area.

Because the damage is so widespread, Maples says it may be a day or two before final determinations are made. J-98 was on the air Sunday night providing non stop coverage from the storms for nearly 4 hours.
