(FESTUS) The 6-3 Herculaneum Lady Blackats are visiting the 4-0 Festus Lady Tigers Friday night for a friendly neighborhood basketball duel on AM 1400 KJFF.
Herky is coming off a 69-63 win over DeSoto this past weekend and is led in scoring by Paige Fowler who is averaging 17-points-per-game. But there are a couple of underrated players that Blackcats head coach Riley Blair has been high on so far.

In Festus’ first four games, the Lady Tigers are beating opponents by an average of 23.5 points. The bulk of the scoring comes from Jenna Oetting and Abby Rickerman who are averaging 22 and 17 points-per-game, respectively. Head coach Chris Ellis says the team has been fortunate to get great performances from those two.

As for the defensive approach to slowing down a Herky offense that is averaging 54 points a game, coach Ellis talks about closing down on the shooters.

Coach Blair says the girls must not give up easy looks to Oetting and Rickerman if they’re going to stand a chance to win.
