New Coronavirus Test

Scientists from the Oxford Engineering Department have developed a new Coronavirus test. Results from the new test come back in about 30 minutes, three times faster than the current tests. According to a news release from Oxford University, the test is very sensitive. This means results can be found early on and seen with the naked eye, making it possible for rural areas to have quick access to results. Oxford researchers are now working to develop an integrated device so the test can be used at clinics, airports or even for home use. They are planning to run clinical validations within the U.K. and exploring options for production of the test kits.
