New Faces Coming To South Iron Girls Hoops For ’19-20

With a brand-new core of younger players, the South Iron Panthers girls basketball team will shoot for the same high goals as years past during the 2019-2020 season. The Panthers return only one starter, Dream Teamer Michaela Ayers, and will move other rotation players like Callie Miller and Hailey Pauley into larger roles. Panthers coach Lawrence Graves said a district title and a long state run is still achievable with this new-look group.

Graves said the six freshmen joining the team will be challenged early, but he thinks they can play some big roles.

South Iron will begin the season in the Valley of Caledonia Tournament starting on Saturday, Nov. 30 with a first-round game against Bismarck. Semifinal, third place and championship coverage of the tournament can be heard on Regional Radio.
