New Fredericktown High School Principal, Nickey Reutzel, Talks With Regional Radio

(Madison County) Fredericktown High School will have a new principal this year. Nickey Reutzel was previously the principal at Fredericktown Intermediate School. Now she’ll take over those duties at the high school while also adding head volleyball coach to her title. Reutzel says the transition this summer has been smooth.

Reutzel tells us about some of the differences between educating at the intermediate and high school levels, and adds that having an assistant principal in Derrick Eaves will be a big help.

Reutzel is married to Fredericktown girls varsity basketball coach Micah Reutzel and their daughter, PJ, is a student-athlete and incoming junior at the high school. Nickey is also the mother to Tucker and Mazie who keep her occupied throughout the summer. So Nickey hasn’t had much time to take a deep breath this summer.

The first day of school for Fredericktown High School students is Tuesday, August 22nd. Reutzel is excited to start this new venture, but like the rest of us, she wouldn’t mind a few more days of summer.

Reutzel is a 2002 graduate of Fredericktown and previously coached the high school volleyball team in 2016 and 2017.
