New Steelville City Council Meets for First Time after Election

(Steelville) The Steelville City Council met for the first time this week after last week’s election.

The council has two new members Tamra Cape and Duane de Rennaux.

Steelville also has a new mayor.

Terry Beckham, who had been a councilman for the last four years, outlined some of his early goals during the meeting.

Mayor Beckham says the council made a decision on whether or not to open the public swimming pool in Steelville.

In other news from this week’s Steelville City Council meeting, it was voted to purchase lap tops to be used at city council meetings by the aldermen.

Mayor Beckham says in the long run this will save the City some money because less paper will be used.

Also, it was announced city hall office hours have returned to normal operating times.
