New technology pieces at Festus Schools
(Festus) The Festus R-6 school district has been in the midst of making changes by adding new technology systems for the upcoming school year. Festus Schools IT Director Josh Bauman says one of the big changes is adding a student information system, and they’ve been working behind the scenes for some time to have it ready to go.
Bauman says parents of a Festus student will soon receive information through e-mail to set up their new accounts.
Bauman recommends that the parents use a desktop computer to fill out the information and NOT do it from a phone. Parents will need to use the new Infinite Campus system for student registration as well.
Other local school districts that are already using Infinite Campus are Dunklin R-5, Jefferson R-7, and Hillsboro R-3.
The other big change is adding a new communications tool called Remind. Festus Director of Communications Kevin Pope says they made this move after they surveyed parents and teachers last fall.
Pope says parents will again be receiving emails from Remind and they can register from there.
These technology changes should all be in place soon, well before the 2023-24 school year begins for the Festus school district on August 21st.
