(Ste. Genevieve) A former assistant principal, from the Ste. Genevieve School District, accused of rape and sodomy of a student will not go to prison.

Instead, Elizabeth Giesler will serve two years probation.

Giesler is the former assistant principal at Ste. Genevieve Middle School.

In 2018, she was charged with sexual contact with a student during a baseball tournament trip.

She took an Alford plea this week, not admitting guilt but accepted that there is enough evidence to find her guilty if the case went to trial.

Giesler also agreed to voluntarily surrender her teacher’s license.
