(Hillsboro) Despite falling back in Red status guidance, and a mask mandate being implemented in neighboring St. Francois County, Jefferson County does not plan on issuing a mask mandate. Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar says the health board will hold two meetings on Thursday afternoon, but a mask mandate is not in the plans.
Vollmar says the public does need to come together and keep each other as safe as possible.
Vollmar shares the current weekly numbers which pushed Jefferson County back to the Red.
The seven-day rolling average case per day for 100,000 residents per day needs to be below 25 to get back to the Orange status. That average jumped to 31 after the weekend numbers were counted.
Just a reminder, there is another Community Test Event Wednesday from 7 AM until 5 PM at Faith Community Church in House Springs.
The Jefferson County Health Department has been notified of 55 new positive cases for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the county. This brings the total number of positive cases to 4,106 in Jefferson County. Of those 4,106, 1,017 are active, with 3,021 recoveries, and now 60 deaths. 553 of those positive cases have been at long term care facilities. The latest death was a male in his 80’s.
