No Serious Problems From Power Outage at Festus R-6 Schools

(FESTUS) A spokesman for the Festus R-6 School District says there weren’t any major complications at the district’s buildings this (Wednesday) afternoon as the result of a power outage. Ameren stated a transformer fire in a neighborhood behind the high school caused the outage. Kevin Pope, Coordinator of Communications and Special Projects for Festus R-6 says classes remained on schedule.
The telephones for the district buildings were also temporarily out of service.
