North County And Central Girls Basketball Battle It Out Thursday Night On J-98

(Park Hills) Basketball returns to J98 Thursday night when the 7-3 North County Lady Raiders head to Park Hills to take on the 10-2 Lady Rebels.

Central is riding a three-game win streak after falling to Steelville in the semifinals of the Christmas tournament including a win against state-ranked West County. Coach Josh Mapes tells us what his team needs to do to keep that win streak alive.

North County is led by 6’3 senior Kamryn Winch who recently signed to play collegiate basketball at Maryville University in St. Louis.

Lady Raider’s coach Joe Arnold says ball handling has been an issue for his team this season. He says good decision-making is a key to winning this game.

Arnold is in his second stint as coach of the Lady Raiders but has been coaching in the area for three decades. He and Mapes have coached against each other many times, including last year’s game when North County beat Central 66-62.

Mapes was complimentary of his counterpart for Thursday night’s game.

And vice versa.

North County and Central tip-off on J98 Thursday night with the Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show starting at 7:15.
