North County falls to Cape Central in district title game

In a game heard on KREI Thursday night, the North County Raiders fell short in the Class 3, District Finals, losing to Cape Central 2-0. There was no score in the first half, but that all changed early in the second half when Cape Central’s Anna Mattinson finally broke through in the 41st minute.
Then in the 65th minute, Emma Winkler would add one more for Cape Central.
Raiders head coach Bill Farr was positive, even in defeat.
With the loss, North County finishes their season at 12-12 while Cape Central is now 17-5 and moving onto the state tournament to play Windsor in sectionals.
