North County Girl’s Tennis Goes Back-To-Back

(Bonne Terre) North County Girl’s Tennis went undefeated in the regular season but stumbled in the MAAA Conference Tournament suffering their first loss. However, the Lady Raiders were able to recover from defeat and go on a tear in the districts. Eventually winning the district championship for the second straight year in Class 1 District 2, defeating Potosi 5-2.

That was head coach Courtney Stufflebean for the Raiders. She says there were a few players that kept this team together to get to the championship.

A few years ago, the Raiders weren’t on the winning side of things, but Coach Stufflebean ad her girls were able to turn it around in a very short time.

The Raiders advance to the sectionals and will face Bishop DuBourg tomorrow at 10. If they pull out the victory, they will face the winner of St. Pius and Kennett later tomorrow in the quarterfinal of the state tournament.
