(BONNE TERRE, Mo) The North County Raiders topped the #5 West County Bulldogs in dramatic fashion with a 4-3 walk off victory in 10 innings. The Raiders led 2-0 through most of the ballgame until the top of the seventh inning when the Bulldog bats would come to life. Having already plated one in that inning, the Bulldog’s Dakota Dowd would give West County a one run lead.

However that lead wouldn’t hold as in the bottom half of the 7th, Kolten Poorman reached on a double and fellow senior Cole Ziegler would drive him home.

Both teams would threaten but not take the lead until the bottom of the 10th where Raider’s infielder Karter Kekec would drive home the game winning run.

After the game, head coach of the North County Raiders Chris McLain said that even though the year hasn’t started how they would like, his team has never quit fighting and it showed in this contest.

North County advances to 2-3-1 while West County drops to 2-2. Kolten Poorman was the Applebees of Farmington player of the game, going 2-2 at the plate with 1 run, 1 RBI and working 3 walks. He also pitched 6.1 innings while allowing 8 hits, 3 earned, and striking out 7 while walking 1 in a no decision. Shelby Lee picks up the win while Hayden Roney suffered the loss.
