(CEDAR HILL) Wednesday on KJFF Sports Talk’s Jefferson County Athletic Director Summer Series, Northwest Athletic Director Jeff Taggart discussed particulars about the upcoming 2019-2020 sports season.

Of note for the fall is the Lions softball team returning to its newly renovated field for home games after playing all of them at the Jefferson County Sports Complex last year.

There is also excitement surrounding Homecoming Week when the football Lions host Lafayette on Friday, September 27th.

Taggart also expressed optimism for the boy’s soccer team that they’ll improve on their 16-10 record and district runner-up finish last season.

There is a coaching change for Northwest girls basketball this winter as previous head coach Bill Linn will be returning to take over for Greg Antrainer.

For the first official games of the fall season for Northwest, the Lions football team will host Francis Howell North on August 30th; boys soccer will be at Eureka on August 30th; cross country will participate in the Jackson Invitational on August 31st; softball will be at Jefferson R-7 on September 3rd; and volleyball will open at Hillsboro on September 3rd.
