Northwest begins 2nd half of the school year

(House Springs) The holiday break is over and the second half of the school year is underway for students and teachers in the Northwest School District.

The second half of the school year opens amidst the highest COVID case count in Jefferson County since the start of the pandemic.

Northwest schools Superintendent Dr. Desi Kirchhofer says there is not a lot of positive cases or even quarantine numbers in the district; however, they will continue to monitor the trends.

Dr. Kirchhofer says COVID is something they will continue to deal with and work through to provide the best quality education possible to each student.

As of right now 8 staff members and 18 students are out with COVID in the Northwest School District.
