Northwest Boys Track and Field Features Four Athletes at Class 5 Sectional on Saturday

(CEDAR HILL) The Northwest Boys Track and Field team will have four individuals in the Class 5 Sectionals tomorrow in Kirkwood.

Lions junior Tanner Campbell leads the pack with participation in two events, the high jump and the triple jump. Head coach Ken Campbell likes Tanner’s numbers from the District meet and is looking forward to seeing what he can do at sectionals.

Senior Dylan Rogers just snuck into the sectional meet after finishing 4th at districts in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.55 seconds. Coach Campbell has nothing but high praise for Rogers and hopes he can end his Northwest career on a high note.

Campbell also says senior Andrew Frisch is one of the best quarter-milers he’s ever coached, with Frisch finishing 2nd in the 400-meter dash at districts. The other Northwest track and field athlete included in the Sectional meet is sophomore Keith Smith in the pole vault.

The Class 5 Sectional 1 meet will begin tomorrow morning at 10 in Kirkwood.
