Northwest nails down Festus in softball on KJFF

(Festus) The Northwest Lions put together a complete performance on the softball diamond in an 11-1 win over the Festus Tigers Wednesday on KJFF.

Festus actually jumped out in front in the first inning, but the Northwest bats would not be quiet forever.

The Lions scored twice in the second, once in the fourth, 5 times in the fifth and once in the sixth.

But Northwest senior pitcher Jackie Oehler didn’t need much help to tame the Tigers.

Oehler recorded 10 strikeouts in the complete-game win.

The Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week allowed just 3 hits and 3 walks as the Lions won the game in 6 innings.

Northwest improves to 5-2 while Festus falls to 0-2.
