Northwest vs Festus in softball is JeffCo Game of the Week on KJFF

(Festus) The Jefferson County Game of the Week returns with a softball showdown between the Northwest Lions and Festus Tigers Wednesday on KJFF.

Northwest is coming off a district championship in 2019 and started last season 12-5.

But the Lions were uneven down the stretch, finishing 2020 with a record of 18-12.

Still, Lions head coach Andrew Keating believes the early play of his veterans has shown his team is going to be a title contender again this year.

Festus finished 6-20 last season but brings back most of its 2020 roster, including top hitters like junior Hunter Ellsworth and senior Mackenzie McJunkins.

The Tigers and Lions claw it out Wednesday afternoon, with pregame coverage starting just after 4 ‘o clock on AM 1400 KJFF.
