J98 GAME OF THE WEEK: #7 FREDERICKTOWN AT #2 STE. GENEVIEVE

Round one of the district playoffs will begin on J-98 with the second seeded Ste Genevieve Dragons hosting the seventh seeded Fredericktown Black Cats. The Black Cats enter the game with a 2-7 record on the year still searching for their first road win of the year. Fredericktown Head Coach Paul Sauer had this to say about his team’s offensive and defensive direction of late.

The Black Cats lost to the Dragons in week 4 by a score of 39-0. Coach Sauer said this about his opponent this week.

Ste Genevieve meanwhile since thier 8-7 loss to top seeded Central have gone 3-1 since, scoring 20 or more points in each of their games. Their one loss came last week and Head Coach of the Dragons Ken Weik thought his team played well in the first half but what killed his team was turnovers.

Since their loss to Ste. Genevieve Wide Receiver Luke Brewster has began to get some reps in the backfield as a running back. Coach Weik talked about the improvement the Black Cats have made and how they have different ways to get the ball to star wide receiver Matt Williams that they didn’t see the first time they faced off.

Kickoff of your J98 game of the week from Ste Genevieve between the Dragons and the Black Cats is at 7 and make sure you tune in to Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show at 6:15.
