(Regional Radio) Our J-98 game of the week features two teams on opposite sides of the .500 line trying to make a late season push into the post season between the Potosi Trojans and the North County Raiders. Potosi comes into this game at 3-4 with injuries all over their team causing them to have to re shuffle their line once again. Head coach of the Potosi Trojans Mark Casey put it quite simply when we asked him if he ever has had this many injuries to a team at once.

When asked about the Raiders and what his take on them is, Coach Casey had this to say.

Coach Dave Dallas joined us earlier in the week on the Cole’s Tractor and Equipment Football Recap Show Tuesday night and he had this to say about Briley Smith’s performance since the second half of the Raiders game against the Hillsboro Hawks 2 weeks ago.

Coach Dallas also had some praise for Trojans Coach Mark Casey and his squad.

Kickoff between the 3-4 Potosi Trojans and the 4-3 North County Raiders will be at 7 on J-98.

With Farmington on track to increase its win total for the fourth season in a row, the Knights welcome Clayton to town tonight. The Greyhounds went 6-4 last year with ambitions to be even better this year. But at 1-6 coach Gene Gladstone tells us, injuries have gutted his team…

And while Farmington doesn’t have any major college prospects suited up, their depth across the board has been a major strength…

The Knights are 4-3 and currently stand at number two in class four district two. We’ll have this game on AM 800 KREI.

The Festus Tigers are rolling as of late having won their past three games as they get set to host the St. Francis Borgia Knights on their homecoming night tonight on 1400 AM KJFF. Festus is 5-2 on the season and have scored 169 points over the course of their last three games. Borgia comes in at 4-3 on the season coming off of back to back victories over O’Fallon Christian and St. Charles West. Tigers head coach Russ Schmidt believes his team will need to come out with energy this week from the get go…

Borgia has a very youthful roster as they have just four seniors on the team while primarily playing sophomores with some juniors sprinkled in. Knights head coach Dale Gildehaus (Gil-duh-has) says his team is fired up to try and ruin Festus’s homecoming…

Festus is led by senior fullback Tyler Sexton whose rushed for 907 yards and 17 touchdowns on the season with 13 of those touchdowns coming in his last three games. The Tigers currently sit in third place in district play behind Hillsboro and Farmington. Kickoff is scheduled for seven pm on our KJFF Game of the Week. Be sure to tune in at 6:15 for the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame show.

Our WebTV “Game of the Week” pits the 2-5 Crystal City Hornets against the 1-6 St. Pius X Lancers. Both teams are desperate to climb up the standings with only two weeks left in the regular season. Crystal City currently sits in last place but only four points behind Chaffee in the Class 1, District 1 standings. A win over Class 2 St. Pius could change that. Hornets Head Coach Terry Crump believes their chances of defeating the Lancers is high if they can correct one simple mistake.

On the other side of the field, St. Pius looks to rebound off a shutout to the St. Vincent Indians last week. The Lancers currently sit sixth in the Class 2, District 1 standings and are running out of time to catch Charleston for the 5th place. If there is one thing head coach Jerry Woods would like to see more of from his team, it’s stability.

Hornets coach Crump points to the Lancers offense as their biggest challenge.

For St. Pius, coach Woods knows the team goes as Luke Lampros goes.

Kickoff between 1-6 St. Pius and 2-5 Crystal City is set for 7 as our WebTV “Game of the Week.”
