Oklahoma City Bombing Anniversary Remembered

Wednesday marked the 28th anniversary of one of the more infamous incidents in the history of our country, the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Mike Ryan is a lieutenant with the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department. He says that incident has caused law enforcement to make some major changes in the way they view security at locations like county courthouse buildings.

That bombing in Oklahoma City killed 168 people, injured 680, and destroyed more than one-third of the building, which had to be demolished. The blast also destroyed or damaged 324 other buildings within a 16-block radius, shattered glass in 258 buildings, and destroyed 86 cars,
