(Old Mines) An event that had to be canceled last year in Washington County because of the pandemic is scheduled to take place this spring, barring any pandemic-related set back.

Dennis Boyer is one of the organizers of this living history event held in Old Mines.

Boyer says visitors will see mainly a certain type of historic trapper at this rendezvous.

The 36th La Fete A Renault Rendezvous is set for Saturday, May 15th and Sunday the 16th on the grounds of St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines.

All participants will be in period dress.

There will be flintlock, smooth bore and percussion rifle matches, along with a primitive archery contest.

There’s games for kids, food will be available for visitors to purchase and other fun.

This free event is open to visitors both days from 10 until dusk.
