One Wappapello Lake Beach Closed This Weekend

(Wappapello) If you plan to camp or just spend a day at Wappapello Lake in Wayne County this weekend, there is one closure you should know about.

Here’s Taylor Tinsley with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the lake.

Tinsley says water safety is so very important to them at Wappapello Lake.

The next program at the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitor Center at Wappapello Lake is next Saturday, August 6th at 11 o’clock and 2 o’clock.

The program is called Second Chance for Wildlife and it will be hosted by Dr. John Watkins of Sedgewickville with Watkins Wildlife Rehab.

John will share some animal rehab stories and will bring in an animal or two for the program.
