Opposition for proposed Jefferson County Parks tax

(Hillsboro) While many are in favor of a tax increase for the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Department, there are those that are certainly against it. County resident John Giancola is a member of one of the many groups in the county that sent a letter to the Jefferson County Council expressing their opposition. He says there are too many unexplained things.

Giancola says another reason he doesn’t agree with the tax is…nothing has been stated explaining what the funds would be used for.

County Councilman Charles Groeteke believes there are too many other important issues that should come first.

Voters in unincorporated Jefferson County will decide the fate of Proposition P (for parks) on the April election ballot. The measure will need a simple majority to pass.
