Over 300 People File For State Office On First Day

(Jefferson City) The Missouri Secretary of State’s office says 337 candidates visited Tuesday to get their name on the August primary election ballot.

Tuesday was the first day candidates could file for the primary.

Of the 337 candidates who filed, 236 filed as Republican, 95 as Democrat and 6 as Libertarian.

Candidates for U-S and state offices, along with some judges, are required to file in person at the Secretary of State’s office building in Jefferson City.
