Pair of Boys MAAA Tournament Quarterfinals Tonight on J98
(Bonne Terre) The final games to tipoff on the condensed day of MAAA tournament quarterfinal action will feature two boys matchups from North County High School on J98.
The first game of the evening pits #2 Ste. Genevieve against #7 Arcadia Valley.
The Dragons have already earned a big win against the Tigers back on January 12th, 70-43 in Ste. Gen.
Arcadia Valley head coach Eric Thompson says he thinks his team learned from that loss and has a chance to fair better tonight.
Ste. Genevieve head coach Rob Coleman says they have been preparing for a Tigers team that poses many problems.
Tipoff of (14-6) #2 Ste. Genevieve and (8-7) #7 Arcadia Valley is scheduled for 5:00.
The second boys’ quarterfinal sees #3 Farmington take on MAAA Small School regular-season champion #6 Valle Catholic.
The Knights have beaten the Warriors in the conference tournament seven times since 2009, including a 58-51 win in the quarterfinals last year.
Valle Catholic head coach Tyler Search says they went back and looked at that game film to try to find a way to flip the script in this matchup.
Farmington head coach Terry Noble says he knows the Warriors have talent across the board.
Tipoff of (12-7) #3 Farmington and (13-7) #6 Valle Catholic is slated for 6:45.
