Park Hills Mayor Concerned about Waste Heading to County Landfill in Vehicles that are not Tarped

(Park Hills) Park Hills Mayor John Clark is concerned about trash and other waste that is flying out of vehicles in his town, as county residents head to the St. Francois County landfill, located east of Desloge.

The Park Hills City Council discussed this matter during this week’s work session.

Here’s City Administrator Mark McFarland.

Also at the meeting, a topic of the American flag not flying right now at the Park Hills Sports Complex has led to several calls from citizens to City Hall. McFarland says there is a good reason why the Stars and Stripes is not flying high at that location currently.

In other news from this week’s Park Hills City Council work session, discussion took place on the work that about ten inmates from the local prisons are doing in town.

They have been trimming trees, sweeping sidewalks, cleaning storm drains and other tasks.

McFarland says they are doing a good job for the City and they have had no issues with these men.

The inmates, that are being utilized, are all nearing the end of their sentences and will be released soon back into the general public.
