As part of the 25th-anniversary celebration of the city of Park Hills, a time capsule was unearthed from under the Central High School flag pole during Cruisin’ for a Cause.

City administrator Mark McFarland says the more than 50 contents inside the capsule provide a window to the past.

The time capsule was buried to commemorate the consolidation of 4 area villages into the city of Park Hills in October 1993.
McFarland says Esther, Elvins, Rivermines and Flat River became one to streamline operations.

The time capsule items are on display at Park Hills city hall until they find a permanent home.
A committee is working to put new items in the time capsule and rebury it.
