(HILLSBORO)    The Park Hills Central Rebels,the number one seed in the Gene Steighorst Tournament will take on the  #2 Festus Tigers Saturday evening for the tournament Championship. In games heard Friday night on 98.5 KTJJ, Central beat Hillsboro 76 to 54 and Festus beat North County 63-60 to create the pairing for the championship game.

In their game against Hillsboro, Park Hills was led in scoring by Jobe Bryant’s 23 points.

 

 

Also helping the Rebels were Kendall Horrton with 15 and Kannon Harlow had 14 points.  The Hawks were led in scoring by Noah Holland who had 14 points. Hawks coach Brian Sucharski says his team just didn’t play their type of game.

 

 

In the second semifinal game, Festus led by 12 at halftime but just couldn’t shake the Raiders. The Raiders pulled to within one point before the Tigers secured the win.  Leading the Tigers in scoring was Logan Cash with 18 points and Arhmad Branch added 17 more.

Tiger’s Coach Jason Therrell says to beat Central for the tournament title, the Tigers will have to take something away from the Rebels.

 

 

The Raiders were led in scoring by Andrew Civey with 19 points. Layne Wigger, who was held scoreless in the first half, had 16 points in the second half.  According to Raider’s coach Dan Johnson,his team needed to be more patient with the ball.

 

 

The Tournament wraps up Saturday beginning with the 7th place game at 12:30pm pitting Northwest against Windsor. That game will be followed at 2pm with the Consolation Championship, Summit against Seckman. The third place game will be at 3:30pm with Hillsboro and North County and the Championship game will be played at 5pm between Central and Festus.  KTJJ will broadcast the third place and Championship games.
