Park Hills woman pleads guilty to rape charges
A Park Hills woman will now become a registered sex offender.
40-year-old Casey Wells plead guilty to 2 counts of second-degree statutory rape in St. Francois County court Wednesday.
Wells was indicted on the charges in January 2016 after the county sheriff’s department received information from the Ozark Family Resource Center of Doniphan that Wells had engaged in sexual intercourse with a then-16-year-old boy in Farmington that she was counseling.
Investigators found photos on Wells’ phone that backed up the teenager’s allegations.
Wells had originally denied any relationship with the boy, but she admitted in court Wednesday that she had intercourse twice with the teen.
Wells is on 5 years of supervised probation and will have to complete a sex offender treatment program.
If Wells violates her parole, she could face up to 10 years in prison.
