Patrick Mahomes Talks As Kansas City Chiefs Arrive For Training Camp
(St. Joseph) The Kansas City Chiefs are ready to begin to training camp on Sunday. Quarterbacks and rookies reported to Missouri Western State University on Tuesday while the rest of the team will arrive in St. Joseph Friday. Patrick Mahomes took the podium earlier in the week. He wants the team to keep improving after their Super Bowl win in February.
Mahomes dealt with an ankle injury throughout the 2023 playoffs but he was able to push through the pain and help the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in the Super Bowl. He says the ankle is feeling much better.
Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid have been a formidable duo since the former was drafted in 2017. Even with the success of the Chiefs during that time, Mahomes says Reid always finds a way to keep everyone motivated.
The last team to win back-to-back Super Bowls were the New England Patriots in 2004 and 2005. Mahomes is confident that his team can get back to the big game.
The first full team practice will take place on Sunday, kicking off the first of 19 practices in St. Joseph. The Chiefs first preseason game on August 13th at New Orleans.
