(FESTUS) The first girls soccer game of 2018 on KJFF is decided by penalty kicks, with the St. Pius Lancers outscoring Windsor 4-2, to win it 2-1. The goal scoring begins in the 2nd half with the visiting Owls taking advantage of a free kick opportunity.

The shot from about 25 yards out put St. Pius in an early second half hole. Just a few minutes later, Lancers senior Julia Houston capitalizes on her free kick chance.

Skipping ahead to penalty kicks, the Lancers held a 3-2 edge with freshman AJ Agers stepping up for the win.

The win for St. Pius puts its record at 2-4 and drops Windsor to 4-5. Lancers head coach Aaron Portell touches on the grit several of his players showed in the win.

St. Pius returns to action tomorrow at home against St. Francis Borgia. Windsor gets a breather and next travels to Lutheran South for a match on Monday.
