(Perry County, Mo.) In the Perry County Municipal Elections today there were four contested races on the ballot and one school board question. The first contested race was for the Perry County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, there were two candidates on the ballot, Gregory Unger and Sharon Unterreiner. Gregory Unger won with 804 votes compared to 727 votes for Unterreiner. For the City of Perryville Mayor race incumbent Ken Baer was taking on Thomas Handrick and Baer won with 495 votes compared to 253 votes for Handrick. For the Altenburg School Board there three candidates with two candidates being voted in for a three year term. Bleau Deckerd with 69 votes lost to Jessica Hecht with 212 votes and Amy Ussery with 205 votes. Finally, Perry County #32 School Board which crosses over with Bollinger County had four candidates for three spots for a three year term, Nancy Veolker, Ashley Geringer and Jamie Robinson all beat out Kathy Carron. The one question on the ballot for Perry County was the Fredericktown School District Prop 2 which crosses over with Madison County and is a yes or no question about whether or not the school district should be allowed to continue operating their tax levy of 3.9 dollars per 100 dollars and that did pass with seven yes’s and two no’s. Of the 12,008 registered voters in Perry County, 1,613 voted in this election which is 13.43%.
