The Perry County School District has a new way to track student achievement. Kate Martin is the director of communications for the board. She describes NWEA, the new test that students across the district are taking this fall.
The test is meant to gage academic growth throughout the entire year. Students at all grade levels are tested in reading, math, and science. Martin says the new test has some early positives.
Perry County students will take the NWEA tests again in the winter in preparation for the MAP tests in the spring.
