Perryville Boys Soccer Shuts out Farmington for 2-0 Win on KREI

(Farmington) A windy evening in Farmington made for an interesting boys soccer game but the Perryville Pirates ended up blanking the Knights to win 2-0 on KREI.

It did not take long for Perryville to jump out to an early lead as junior Stratton Kaempfe found the twine in the second minute.

That was all the scoring for the first half as the Pirates went into the break leading 1-0.

Even with Perryville shooting into the wind in the second half, they got on the board in the twenty-first minute off the foot of senior Colby Hager.

The Perryville defense stood tall the rest of the way to keep the clean sheet for junior goalie Ty Baudendistel, his sixth of the season.

Pirates head coach Jerry Fulton says his team could have played a cleaner game but Farmington made things tough all night.

Perryville improves to 9-3 with the win and they get right back at it as they turn around and host the Sikeston Bulldogs tomorrow.

Farmington falls to 3-9 and they next head down to Jackson to take on the Indians on Monday.
