(PERRYVILLE, Mo.) – A couple of teams that played two very competitive football games in 2018 will square off Friday night as the 1-1 Potosi Trojans hit the road to take on the 2-0 Perryville Pirates on J-98.

For Potosi, they followed up a 44-28 win at Owensville in week one with a 23-6 defeat at St. Clair last week, a 9-2 team from last year.

Trojans head coach Ed Haar says his team is ready to get back on track this week.

On the side of Perryville, they carried momentum from a 14-7 win at Desoto in the opener into a 51-0 thumping of St. James at home last Friday.

Perryville is using a new quarterback this year in junior Evan Daugherty, so head coach Blane Boss thought it was nice to see the offense execute that well a week ago.

Last year, Perryville got the better of Potosi in their first matchup by a score of 10-8, but the Trojans got them back in the district playoffs, winning 17-14.

Trojans head coach Ed Haar says the two teams play similar styles.

Pirates head coach Blane Boss knows his team will be tested against Potosi.

You can tune into the season opener between the Potosi Trojans and the Perryville Pirates Friday night on J-98 with the Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show beginning at 6 on Regional Radio.
