Perryville Police Investigate Bomb Threat, Determine No Credible Danger

(Perryville) The Perryville Police Department was notified on Wednesday night of potential danger at the Perryville Middle School on Thursday. A third party notified the police department that a student had told several other students not to come to school on Thursday, because he was bringing a bomb. Law enforcement identified the student that made the threat and immediately notified school officials. Officers made contact at the juvenile’s residence and then took him to the station for questioning. The student admitted making the statements, but denied being serious about taking action. The juvenile was turned over to a juvenile officer and officers searched the student’s residence. They did not find any weapons or bomb making materials. After determining that there was no credible threat to the school or its students, Perryville Police closed the case.
