Perryville, Potosi meet again in football district playoffs opener

It’s a rematch of a first-round meeting from last year as the fifth-seeded Perryville Pirates travel to face the number-four seed Potosi Trojans in the first round of the 2019 Class 3 District 1 playoffs Friday on the MyMoInfo SportsStream.
Both teams come in at 5-4 and off a win in the last week of the regular season.
Potosi won a thriller 20-14 over DeSoto to earn back-to-back victories.
Trojans head coach Ed Haar likes how his team is playing as the postseason begins.
One of the 5 victories the Trojans already have this year was a 34-20 win at Perryville.
But Haar thinks his team needs a better defensive effort to win again.
Perryville has been wracked by injuries, with 4 senior starters done for the year.
But the Piartes rallied to handily win their last 2 games of the regular season.
Head coach BlaPCne Boss says the sophomore class has stepped up in the wake of the team’s injury bug.
Boss says the key to revenge against Potosi is getting more stops than the first go-around.
The winner faces either Kennett or Doniphan in the district semifinals.
