Perryville’s Kaempfe earns MVP to highlight JCAA Large-School all-conference volleyball

(Festus) We now know the 2020 all-conference volleyball teams for the Jefferson County Athletic Association Large-School Division.

First-team all-conference is lead by Perryville’s Kristan Kaempfe.

The Pirates senior was named the JCAA Large-School Division player of the year after piling up 212 kill and a whopping 80 blocks.

Fellow Perryville senior Jaiden Garris earned first-team honors with 188 kills and a team-high 249 digs.

The conference-champion Hillsboro Hawks were represented by first-team all-conference seniors Mackenzie Baker and Sophia Marchetti, who led the team in kills.

Senior Lidiya Sokolic and sophomore Lexi Menne of the Windsor Owls were selected first-team all-conference after combining for over 400 kills and guiding their squad to second place in the league.

Festus Tigers senior Lily Brickhaus rounds out the all-conference first-team with over 100 kills and almost 280 digs in her final season.

Second-team all-conference features DeSoto Dragons senior outside hitter Kamryn Pehle, who lead the team in kills.

She’s joined by Perryville senior libero Sidney Buerck, who compiled a team-high 254 digs and 34 aces.

Hillsboro’s Evelyn Roland, Windsor’s Katie Moore and Grace Lowery and Festus’ Gabbi Burkard and Devin Younger also made second-team all-conference.

Honorable mention honors went to DeSoto senior Jenna Nickelson and Perryville sophomore Makenna Bollinger.

Hillsboro’s Erin Boss was named the league’s coach of the year.
