(PERRYVILLE, Mo.) – Brooke Phillips has been one of the top throwers for the Perryville Pirates girls track and field team, and next season she will continue to climb the ladder in her track and field career. Last week, Phillips signed on to compete for the women’s track and field program at Central Methodist University in Fayette. Phillips said Central Methodist was always her first choice.
Phillips has participated in the shot put, discus and javelin throw for the Pirates during her career. She said her strength has really improved over the years.
Phillips said earning an athletic scholarship is extra special because she will be the first person in her family to attend college.
