Perryville’s Simpson Shines As Pitcher, Hitter; Earns Athlete of the Week

(PERRYVILLE, Mo.) – Ann-Marie Simpson of the Perryville Pirates softball team is the latest Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy “Play It Forward” Athlete of the Week after her team took third place in the Union tournament last weekend. Simpson had two triples, a double, five RBI’s and three stolen bases as the lead-off hitter. She also pitched two complete-game victories, one of them a shutout, and did not allow an earned run all weekend. Pirates coach Dustin Wengert said Simpson’s pitching performance really stood out.
As the Athlete of the Week, Simpson will receive a t-shirt, a certificate and the chance to pick a local charity to receive a $25 donation from Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy.
