Persistent thieves causing havoc in Dittmer

(Dittmer, Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office had been on the search for a pair of men from Dittmer that had been linked to several vehicle thefts over the past few months. Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Grant Bissell says deputies arrived at the 8300 block of Portland Lane in Dittmer on July 27th.

Bissell says deputies returned to the home a few hours later and located a stolen Yamaha motorcycle.

Bissell says deputies began to search for the 25-year-old suspect.

It’s unknown if the 25-year-old suspect was able to sneak out of the home undetected. The names of the 25-year-old and the 20-year-old that was taken into custody have not been released.
