Pevely Police Officer injured in accident

(Pevely) A Pevely police officer was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 61-67 south of Pevely Main Street Tuesday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23-year old Officer Connor Lewis of St. Louis was driving a 2014 Chevy Tahoe police vehicle, and pulled out of a private drive turning southbound on 61-67 and was struck 46-year old Robert Christian of DeSoto who was driving a 1980 Ford L9000. Officer Lewis was taken by JPAD personnel to Mercy Hospital South with minor injuries.

According to the Pevely Police Facebook page, Officer Lewis sustained broken ribs and minor bleeding around his lung. He was scheduled to be held overnight for evaluation. The accident took place around 8:20 Tuesday morning.
