Pevely Proposition 1 marijuana tax info

(Pevely) The City of Pevely, like a few other area municipalities, will be asking voters to approve a three-percent sales tax on recreational marijuana in the April municipal election. Pevely City Administrator Andy Hixson says the funds generated from the tax will go towards city public safety entities.

Pevely, along with the cities of Herculaneum, Hillsboro, and Festus are all asking for the sales tax issue to pass on recreational marijuana. There are dispensaries in each of those cities. All of the propositions will need a simple majority to pass on April 4th.
