Pevely Woman Arrested and Charged in Connection to Stabbing Incident

(Pevely) A Pevely woman has been arrested and charged after she allegedly stabbed a man during a domestic assault at a residence in the Pevely Pointe Apartment Complex.

40-year-old Corie Jean Broten has been charged with Domestic Assault in the 1st Degree, resulting in serious physical injury and Armed Criminal Action.

Pevely Police Captain Larry Miller says the stabbing occurred just after 6 pm on May 12th.

Broten was arrested without incident. The victim underwent emergency surgery and is expected to survive.

After criminal charges were applied, Broten was transported to the Jefferson County Jail to await her appearance in court.
