Pie Eating Contest & Corn Maze Part of Saturday’s Caledonia Pumpkin Festival

(Caledonia) Saturday’s Caledonia Pumpkin Festival is sure to bring a lot of smiles to those young and old.

Nina Gilliam is the owner of the Old Village Mercantile, an old fashioned candy shop that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Nina also helps organize the pumpkin fest which happens all day this Saturday.

She says the pumpkin pie eating contest, with three age groups for competitors, is one of the many attractions you can see or even be a part of.

And Gilliam says Rowe Crop Farm has been a destination for several years now, as part of the Caledonia Pumpkin Fest.

Rowe Crop Farm is about a mile down Webster Road from the village park where most of the other festival activities will happen.

The parade kicks off the Caledonia Pumpkin Festival Saturday morning at 10.

Make sure to get there early for a good viewing spot.

The parade’s main route is Highway 21 or Main Street, through the heart of the village.
