Plans Underway For Missouri Marijuana Microbusinesses

(Farmington) The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is detailing plans for licensing microbusinesses.

Following the approval of Amendment 3 in November, which legalized adult use marijuana, a lottery system was created to award a small number of new licenses.

Microbusinesses are marijuana facility licenses issued to small business owners to be able to participate in the legal market.

There are two types of the license, dispensary and wholesale.

To be eligible, applicants must meet at least one of several requirements, including having a net worth of less than 250-thousand dollars, reside in a ZIP code where 30-percent or more of the population lives below the federal poverty level, and/or graduated from an unaccredited school district.

The licenses will be issued in October.
