Police Urge Motorists to be Mindful of School Bus Stops and School Zones as New School Year Begins

(Jefferson County, MO) Many local school districts are returning back to school this week and with that people can expect to see school buses back out on the road and more traffic in and around school buildings.

The Festus School District is one of a handful of districts going back to school on Monday.

Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis reminds motorists to use caution near school zones.

Herculaneum Police Chief Mark Tulgetske mentions school bus stop-arm violations have been an issue in the past.

Some school districts will begin class on Monday, while other districts are planning to have their first day on Wednesday.
