(Hillsboro) It’s been around eight months since Buddy Russell won the election for Mayor of the city of Hillsboro. Hillsboro saw its fair share of problems after Mayor Joe Phillips resigned in January and the problems that surrounded their police department with many allegations. Russell says things have made a turn for the better since he’s been in office.
Since Russell’s been in office, Steve Meinberg has stabilized the Hillsboro Police Department as it’s new chief. The mayor along with city administrator Jesse Wallis have established a plan for a new water tower to be built in two years, and are working on a plan for a splash pad and other attractions to the city park.
